What Is The Steiner School?
This is an exciting project run with an input from parents and the two teachers, Bambi (Mark Bamford) and Nicki Snell. The school makes good use of the beautiful surroundings and integrates with nature through out the curriculum with stream dam building, natural art, coppice craft skills and gardening. The long term aim is to have a main school in lancaster integrating with the Rainbow Toddlers, Cherrytrees Kindergarten. The rural classroom will still be used by classes for blocks of time for nature study and other activities. |

| In a rapidly changing world where moral, social and economic stability cannot be taken for granted. It is essential that children learn to become resourceful, creatively active, and able to respond imaginatively to life's challenges. As is now being recognised by educational experts, too much specialisation, too early, in the pure academic skills can lead to rigid thinking, an impoverished social life, and a lack of both confidence and sense of purpose in life. |

| Through a wide ranging curriculum, Steiner schools offer a healthy balance of practical, social, artisic and academic activities. The emphasis changes with the child's age and natural and individual needs. A unique feature of a Steiner School is that a teacher will remain with the same pupils from the first class through to the eighth. This builds up a relationship of confidence, security and trust. Throughout the year there are also specialist teachers adding their professional skills, such as music, handwork or languages. |

If we want our children to be confident as adults and be able to make their own choices, then we must provide them with the appropriate education.
