At Middlewood Trust we have a small community based in the farm house, low impact structures, a caravan and in Wray. We work together to create an example of sustainability.

The following is our initial draft of ethics, and principles for Middlewood Trust residents.

ETHICS
We aim to live sustainably. We research into and provide education about sustainable lifestyles.
Sustainability is meant in its widest possible sense to include environmental, social, economic and personal sustainability.

PRINCIPLES

• To care for and respect the earth, each other, and other people.


• We agree with and support the objects of Middle Wood Trust.


• We provide correct information about what is going on here.


• We only set up activities we can deliver.


• We foster a positive relationship with the rest of the world.


• In our relationships the principles of communication, co-operation, openness, honesty, truth and fairness should prevail.


• Whilst being sensitive to peoples right to privacy we recognise that one persons problems are the concern of all.


• Middlewood Trust will be managed to maintain the feeling of wilderness.


• Middlewood Trust should be accessible to local people.
